AC Installation — Book a Visit Today

We install central air conditioning systems, replace worn-out AC units and put in ductless mini-splits for homeowners across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Washington DC. Most systems reach the end of the road the same way: a compressor that will not start, a coil eaten through by salt air, or a refrigerant leak that costs more to chase than the unit is worth. A visit starts with load and duct measurements, not a guess. We look at return air, static pressure, crawlspace conditions and where the condenser sits, then give you sizing options in writing. Call us with your address and the age of the current system and we will schedule a site visit that fits your week.

The AC installation symptoms we hear most

  • My AC is 15 years old and the repair bill keeps climbing Compressor and coil wear at end of service life
  • One room never cools no matter what I set the thermostat to Duct sizing, return air shortage or an addition with no supply
  • The outdoor unit is rusted through at the bottom Coastal salt air corrosion on cabinet and condenser coil
  • It runs all day and the house still feels damp and sticky Oversized equipment short-cycling without pulling humidity
  • We finished a garage or sunroom and there is no ductwork out there Zone with no distribution, a ductless mini-split candidate

Search for it as AC installation or air conditioner installation and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1:
  • 2Confirm the thermostat is set to cool and swap in fresh batteries before you assume the system failed.
  • 3Check the breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the air handler or outdoor unit circuit.
  • 4Change the air filter if it is grey and matted, then note how long it took to load up.

AC Installation — quick answers

How do you decide what size AC my house needs?

We measure the house rather than match the old nameplate. Square footage, insulation, window area, ceiling height, duct capacity and orientation all feed the load calculation. Oversized equipment cools fast and leaves the air damp, which is the complaint we hear most in humid months.

Can I keep my existing ductwork with a new system?

Often yes, but we test it first. We check duct sizing, leakage at joints, return air capacity and static pressure. If the ducts cannot move the air the new system expects, we tell you what needs sealing or resizing before installation day.

How long does an AC replacement take?

A straight changeout of an existing central system is usually a one-day job. Adding line sets, correcting duct problems, moving the condenser pad or converting to a different configuration can push it into a second day. We give you the timeline before we start.

Is a ductless mini-split worth it for one hot room?

For an addition, converted garage, attic room or sunroom with no ductwork, a ductless mini-split is usually the cleanest fix. It gives that space its own thermostat and avoids tearing up finished walls to run duct branches through the house.

Should I replace the furnace or air handler at the same time?

If both are near the same age, doing them together usually costs less labour and gets you a matched system that performs as designed. If your heating side is much newer, we look at whether a coil and condenser change makes sense on its own.

Does salt air really shorten how long a condenser lasts?

Near the coast it does. Salt attacks aluminium fins and the cabinet base, so coils corrode and lose heat transfer years earlier than inland units. We talk through coil coatings, siting the unit away from prevailing spray and a rinse routine.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
  • Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
  • Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
  • Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
