What a gas furnace installation involves
We start by shutting down and removing the old unit, then setting the new furnace on a level, dry base. In this region that base matters, because crawlspaces sit close to a high water table and a furnace on a sagging platform will not stay square. We connect the gas line, the electrical, the flue or PVC venting and the condensate drain, then tie the furnace back into your existing ductwork with proper transitions. Startup includes checking gas pressure, temperature rise and safety controls before we leave.
What we check and install
We check the gas supply line size, because a furnace starved for gas will short cycle no matter how new it is. We look at the venting path, the combustion air supply and the flue condition, and we replace what is not right rather than reusing it. The return duct gets measured, since an undersized return chokes airflow and overheats the heat exchanger. We install a new thermostat, new filter housing where needed, a condensate route that drains reliably in humid weather, and a fresh disconnect.
How we decide replacement is the right call
We decide based on the heat exchanger, the age of the unit and what the repair record looks like. A cracked or rusted heat exchanger is a replacement, full stop, because that is a combustion safety issue and no patch is honest. Repeat blower and control board failures on a furnace well past its service life usually point the same direction. If the furnace is sound and the problem is a single part, we say so and quote the heating repair instead. You get the reasoning either way.

How long does a gas furnace installation take?
Most straightforward changeouts run a single day. If the venting has to be rerouted, the gas line resized, or the return duct rebuilt, it can stretch into a second day. We tell you before we start.
Can you reuse my existing ductwork and flue?
Often yes, if the duct is sized right and sealed and the flue is in good condition. We inspect both before quoting. Where we find undersized returns or a deteriorated flue, we include the correction in the work.
What size gas furnace does my house need?
We size by measuring the house, not by matching the sticker on the old unit. Square footage, insulation, window area and duct capacity all factor in. Oversized furnaces short cycle and leave rooms uneven.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us
- We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
- Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
- Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
- Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.

- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
