Furnace Installation — Book a Visit Today

We install and replace gas furnaces for homeowners across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Most furnaces get replaced because a heat exchanger has cracked, the burners short cycle on a failed control board, or the unit is old enough that parts have to be hunted down. A visit starts with load math, not a sales pitch. We measure the house, look at duct sizing and static pressure, check the flue and gas line, and look at where the furnace sits, which in this region often means a damp crawlspace. Then we give you options in writing. If your furnace is struggling now, call us and we will get someone out to look at it before you commit to anything.

The furnace installation symptoms we hear most

  • The furnace runs all evening and the house still feels cold Undersized or failing unit, duct losses, or a heat exchanger past its life
  • It kicks on, runs two minutes, shuts off, then does it again Short cycling from overheating limits, a bad control board, or poor sizing
  • We keep paying for repairs and the parts are getting hard to find Aged furnace with discontinued components, replacement usually costs less over time
  • There is rust and water sitting under the furnace in the crawlspace Condensate or flue corrosion, common where the water table sits high
  • Upstairs bedrooms never get warm but the hallway is roasting Duct design and airflow distribution, addressed during a replacement

Whether you call it furnace installation, furnace replacement or heater installation, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Check the thermostat batteries and confirm it is set to heat with the target temperature above room temperature.
  • 2Look at the breaker panel for a tripped breaker feeding the furnace or air handler and reset it once.
  • 3Pull the filter. If light will not pass through it, replace it with the same size and see if airflow improves.
  • 4Walk the house and open any supply and return vents that have been closed or blocked by furniture or rugs.

Furnace Installation — quick answers

How do I know whether to repair or replace my furnace?

We look at the age, the failed part, and how many repairs you have already paid for. A cracked heat exchanger or a repair approaching the cost of a new unit usually points to replacement. We give you both numbers and let you choose.

How long does a furnace installation take?

Most straight swaps take a single day. If the flue, gas line, condensate routing or ductwork needs work, or if the furnace sits in a tight crawlspace or attic, plan on two days. We tell you which one before we start.

Do I need new ductwork with a new furnace?

Not always, but we check. Undersized returns and leaky duct runs make a new furnace behave like an old one. We measure static pressure and inspect the runs, then tell you what needs sealing or resizing and what can stay.

Is a high-efficiency furnace worth the upgrade?

It depends on how long you plan to stay and how the house is built. High-efficiency models need a condensate drain and different venting, which adds install work. We walk through what that means for your house before you decide.

Can I get the right size by matching the old furnace?

That is how houses end up oversized. Windows, insulation and additions all change the load. We run the calculation on your actual house so the furnace runs longer, quieter cycles instead of blasting and shutting off.

I smell gas near the furnace. What should I do?

Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and do not touch switches. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility. Once they have cleared the property, call us and we will handle the furnace side.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
  • Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
  • Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
  • Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
